“What were the two things that Jesus said?”

December 23, 2002 (Monday)

Swami came to Ganesh portico at 3.30 pm.

Swami : (To Prof. Anil Kumar) What were the two things that Jesus told?
(There was no response. After a few seconds, Swami gave the answer.) The first one is, “All are one, My dear son. Be alike to everyone.” And the second one is, “Death is the dress of life.” They (referring to the foreign devotees in the Poornachandra Auditorium) are practicing carols with so much interest and sincerity both in the afternoon and evening. (To a teacher) How are the carols?

Teacher : They are very good Swami.

Swami : Where are most of the boys?

Teacher : Swami, they have gone for March past practice.

Swami : (Pointing towards the third block)
Tomorrow foreigners will occupy this. They will be singing carols. Day after tomorrow our boys will be sitting here. Are the band boys practising?

Prof. A. K. : Yes, Swami.

Swami : Where are all the boys?

Prof. A. K. : Swami, practice is going on for the Sports Meet.

Swami : (To a student) Which practice? Is it dinner practice?

Student : Swami, Sports Meet practice.

Swami : (To a student) Kya Karta Hai? (What are they doing?)

Student : Swami, PG (postgraduate) boys are having March past practice.

Swami : (To a visiting professor) What do you teach?

Teacher : Management, Swami.

Swami : (Referring to the Sai Kulwant Hall) What is this decoration?

Prof. A. K. : Swami, they put stars, angels and lights.

Swami : Are there no holidays for Christmas?

Teacher : Only for one day Swami. Sports Meet practices are going on.

Swami then got up and went back into the interview room.
