Swami had visited the Hill View Stadium to take a look at the events being presented for the Sports Meet. Swami came out around 4.30 p.m.

Swami: (To the Institute Principal – Prof. U.S. Rao) Our sports presentation is not good. The horses are reaching the obstacles, but are unable to cross the barriers in front of them. Girls are cycling in a big circular structure. I don’t know whether the circle is moving or the cycles are moving. The sports items put up by small children are far better than the items by the bigger children. (Swami would always be full of appreciation for the efforts of the tiny tots from the Primary School)
Prof. Anil Kumar (AK): Swami that’s why their items are scheduled separately in the afternoon.
Swami: Those small kids have got humility and sincerity in them. Our performances are better than many of the national meets. Those tiny tots are doing very nicely on the cycles. Eleven boys are performing feats on one cycle. Just now, the Vice-Chancellor (VC) and Myself went to see them.
VC (Sri Giri): Yes, Swami.

Swami: Primary school boys are doing some stunts on pillars. They are climbing the pillars and are coming down very swiftly. I was worried if anything would happen to their heads, but they landed safely. Their cycle item is also very nice. (Then Swami described the various positions in which they were doing this event.) Even they have got small bikes and their feats on them are spectacular. The primary school teachers have a very tight schedule during the Sports Meet season. The swiftness in the colour change of their costumes is worth watching. They are doing everything in an orderly fashion. There is a 10-15 minute gap between each item presented by our boys, but the primary school items are continuous. When I go, they offer Me a rose and after taking blessing from Me they begin their performance. The teachers manage all the daily needs of the children like clothes, books, etc. with the fees paid at the very beginning of the year.
Prof. A.K. : It is a great wonder.
Swami: No doubt it is a wonder, but nobody will believe it. The primary school children have a great degree of respect for their teachers. Warden, Emi Samacharam (what is the news)?
Warden (Dr. Siva Sankara Sai): Swami, two teachers and one research scholar are made in charge for each item.
Teacher: Swami, our boys are performing acrobatics on the giant wheel. Have you seen that?

Swami: No, I did not see.
Teacher: Swami, vaulting horses and gymnastics are also done by our boys.
Swami: Not a single piece of wood, but there are wood pieces piled up together. Jumping over them is not a big deal. (It was not the time to appreciate the performances; Swami was driving the students to the limits of excellence.)
Warden: Swami, will You be arriving at 7o’clock that day?
Swami: Ashtami (the eighth day of the fortnight is considered inauspicious in the Southern Indian tradition) ends at 7.11 a.m, so I will start at 7.15 am and reach there by 7.30 a.m.
Warden: Swami, our boys are putting a lot of effort for the Sports Meet. The whole of last night they worked to put up the speakers. Bikes and horses will escort You. (Warden – Dr. Siva Sankara Sai desperately tries to get a word of satisfaction from Swami. But Swami won’t give in yet.)
Swami: First Geetha…
Warden: Swami, first Sai Geetha, then the band, followed by slow march, bikes and horses.

Prof. A.K.: Swami, our Sports Meet programme will be much better than the national games put up at Hyderabad.
Swami: Here all work is done with devotion and love. Our Sports Meet does not cost much.
Prof. A.K. : Swami, when those people who have been to the national games watch our games, they will surely know the difference.
